15 years old vehicles (Old vehicles) will have to be re-registered
An important change has been made to older vehicles recently. According to this change, re-registration of vehicles older than 15 years has now been made mandatory. When a new vehicle is purchased, the registration of that vehicle is considered valid for 15 years. Vehicles older than 15 years will be verified by the RTO, if the vehicle is drivable it will be re-registered and the registration is considered valid for 5 years.
If you don’t re-register your 15-year-old vehicle and your vehicle gets caught, you have to pay Rs. 2000 and for four wheeler (car) Rs. 5000 will be fined. Along with this, the fee for re-registration of old vehicles has also been significantly increased. According to a media report, the fee for re-registration of a 15-year-old two-wheeler has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs. 1250 and the fee for re-registration of a car i.e. four-wheeler has been increased from Rs.800 to Rs. 5200 has been increased.
Major Changes in Driving License Rules:
According to the changes in the rules for issuing driving license, it is no longer necessary to go to the RTO to issue a new driving license. According to the decisions taken by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, one does not have to go to the RTO for the driving test anymore, as now one can go to any recognized driving school and register for the driving license as per the new rules. That means now you have to take the training in a recognized driving school and take the driving test there. If you pass the driving test at the driving school, a certificate will be issued by the driving school, through which your driving license will be issued.
