PAN card is an essential document for any type of financial transactions in the country. If you want to take a loan or credit card or to invest somewhere, to file an income tax return or to open a bank account, a PAN card is required. A permanent account number is a 10-digit alphanumeric code that keeps a complete record of a person’s financial history. The income tax department issues it, but if there is an error in the PAN card or the photo is blurry and outdated, you can change it yourself. Work will be done in just 5 minutes sitting at home.
How to change photo in PAN card
- Visit NSDL’s official website at https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html.
- A page will open, click on Application Type option and click on Changes or correction in existing PAN Data.
- Now click on Individual option from the category menu.
- Then fill in all the required information and click submit.
- Then fill in all the required information and click submit.
- Now go to PAN application only and select KYC option.
- Then Photo Mismatch and Signature Mismatch option will appear
- Click on Photo Mismatch option to change the photo.
- Now enter father and mother name and click on next button.
- After filling in all the details, attach proof of identity, proof of address and proof of birth and death.
- Then click on Declaration and click on submit button.
- Application fee for change of photograph and signature is Rs. 101 (excluding GST) and Rs. 1011 (excluding GST).
- After the entire process, a 15 digit acknowledgment number will be received.
- Send this printout of the application to the Income Tax Service Unit.
- The application can also be tracked by the acknowledgment number.
Apply for Instant PAN Card
According to the Income Tax Department, it takes about 10 minutes for an instant PAN to issue an e-PAN card through an Aadhaar card. About 8 lakh PAN cards have been issued so far through this facility.
