Whenever people buy a new product from the market, they definitely want its guarantee and warranty. Accordingly, people buy strong and durable goods. But sometimes even after the guarantee, the goods turn out to be bad. In such a situation, many times shopkeepers come to replace it. If something like this happens to you, you should know your rights as a consumer so that you can seek justice.
Justice in 45 days
Let us tell you that if a shopkeeper does not replace the goods even after guarantee, you can complain to the consumer commission. You will also get justice within a maximum of 45 days under the new amendments to the Consumer Protection Act. Keeping in view the interests of consumers in India, the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 was passed.
This is how you can complain
If you have been cheated by a shopkeeper and given a fake or substandard item, you can file a complaint through a lawyer. You will not have to pay any kind of fee for this. Complainant has to give his details like name, address, name of opponent, full details of complaint and necessary proof (bill or guarantee/warranty card). Apart from this, the complainant has to certify his complaint by signature.
Here the hearing takes place
If you pay Rs. Complaints regarding goods or services up to 5 lakhs will be heard in district level forum. On the other hand, if there is a complaint up to 20 lakh rupees, it will be heard at the state level in the State Commission. Apart from this, if you complain about goods or services worth more than Rs 20 lakh, the National Commission will hear it. If you want, you can also appeal to the State Commission against the decision of the District Forum. At the same time, the decision of the State Commission can be appealed to the National Commission.

Whenever you buy any goods or services from the market there are some things to keep in mind.
Be sure to take a fixed bill of goods whenever you shop, so no shopkeeper can refuse you.
If the goods have a guarantee or warranty, be sure to take the guarantee card.

While shopping, definitely check the packing date, manufacturing date and expiry date.
